Born and raised in Surat, Fatema Mohammed Maldeviwala always had an innate eye for creativity and detail. She pursued her passion by graduating in Interior Design from the Indian Institute of Interior Design (IID). During her academic journey, she gained hands-on experience working on prestigious projects such as Ishanya Mall, ZK’s Restaurant, and Gold’s Gym, as well as collaborating with the renowned designer AR Richard Perera in Pune. This foundation instilled in her the courage and resilience to dream bigger and explore the vast world of design.
The Spark that Changed Everything
After initially working as an interior designer in Surat, Pune, and Kolkata, Fatema’s career took an unexpected yet remarkable turn.
During the 100 mi Milad of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Moula (RA), she suggested a grand rose-themed Shitabi for her society in Badshah Nagar. What started as a simple idea soon turned into an extraordinary celebration, admired for its unique décor, heartfelt presentation, and attention to detail.
The very next day, a guest approached her to plan a wedding. Though she hesitated, saying, “I am an interior designer, not an event planner,” the guest insisted that she had the creativity and leadership needed. With Moula’s dua and raza, Fatema embraced this challenge in 2014.
And thus, Eventeriors – Designing Space and Celebrations was born. A brand that beautifully blended interiors and events, creating a unique identity for Fatema as a designer.
Balancing Motherhood and Passion
As life unfolded, Fatema became a proud homemaker and mother of two wonderful children. Balancing her role as a mother while managing two creative fields was not easy. There were moments of fatigue, doubt, and sacrifice, yet she never let go of her vision.
Motherhood slowed her pace, but it also gave her fortitude and discipline. She learned time management, team building, budgeting, and leadership through events, while interiors honed her creativity, technical skills, and ability to translate stories into spaces.
Both worlds shaped her into a multifaceted professional grounded in values yet soaring with ambition.
Achievements and Milestones
Fatema’s career is filled with accomplishments that speak of both artistry and impact:
- Interiors: One of her proudest projects was a 3BHK residence in Kolkata. Despite the society’s residents spending heavily on interiors, her client’s home stood out with refined layouts, timeless styling, elegant lighting, and creative space utilization all within a balanced budget. Even after a decade, the design continues to receive admiration.
- Events: From Royal Weddings to unique themes like Daughters are a Blessing, Café & Flamingo Mehndi, Born to Shop, Fatema’s creativity has touched countless lives across India and beyond.
- Lockdown Innovation: During the pandemic, she introduced personalized décor corners for Katha functions dedicated to family members like Maami, Kaaki, Maasi, and Faiji. This heartfelt concept soon became a global trend within the Dawoodi Bohra community, transforming into a cherished tradition.
For Fatema, these achievements are not just professional triumphs but testaments of how creativity, faith, and persistence can inspire lasting change.
Philosophy and Lessons
Fatema believes that “True success is not measured by only money, it will come and go, but by growth, kindness and gratitude. I truly believe that none of this would be possible without the constant support from family.
My father and mother gave me freedom to dream big, my partner Mohammed gave me wings to my dreams, my supporters and clients are like the feathers of my wings, and my children always want me to fly high.
She believes in staying grateful, trusting instincts, learning continuously, and doing everything with pure intention.
Her guiding principles are simple yet profound:

- Never compare yourself with others.
- Stay calm, grateful, and emotionally balanced.

Contribution to the Community
Beyond her professional achievements, Fatema remains deeply committed to her community. She serves as a Buniyaat member and supports HR management in Hasanji Nagar Jamaat, Pune. She also contributes by managing décor for community functions, always ready to extend a helping hand whenever required.
Looking Ahead
With more than 10 interior projects and over 100 event designs under her belt, Fatema continues to dream of new horizons. She believes in waiting for the right opportunity, trusting the flow of life, and keeping her focus on impact rather than scale.
